Florida day 2
The 2nd day I was in Florida, I tubed down this really beautiful river with Brittany's family. Spiders and water moccasins aside, Florida really is very pretty. We spent about 2 hours just relaxing and tubing, and then afterwards we went to Dairy Queen and got ice cream.
Day 3 we went to Disney world again. We visited the only park we hadn't been to yet (animal kingdom) and rode Everest, Disney's newest roller coaster. The theme of the ride is that you're climbing everest, and you meet the Yeti. But the best part of the roller coaster is when you're going up this hill, and it looks like the track is broken, so you start going backwards. This is Brittany, Cat's niece Emma, and me in front of the tree of life.
After Everest it got hot enough that we decided to ride the only water ride in the park, Kali River Rapids. I didn't get very wet, which suited me just fine, but poor Cathrine got caught just right down a hill and got totally soaked from the shoulders up!! It made me laugh so hard! Her hair was plastered to her face.... Ah, good times....
After Kali River Rapids, we fastpassed Everest, and then rode the Dinosaur ride while we were waiting for our fastpass time to come. After our second Everest ride, we headed off to MGM.
At MGM we rode Tower of Terror twice, and rockin roller coaster once. We rode star tours, and met a bunch of Star Wars characters, and saw this really cute show that involved a bunch of cute little kids fighting Darth Vader and Darth Maul. That was when we realized we couldn't find Emma, and had to spend the next half hour looking for her. After we found her, we went to Downtown Disney and spent the next few hours shopping in the biggest Disney store I've ever seen! We then realized that all of us were so exhausted we could hardly move, and headed home.

I may be the devil, but at least I can fly to hell for free
My Florida vacation was SO much fun, everyone. The highlight of the trip definitely being able to see my friend Cat. But meeting my Cat's and Brittany's families were definitely up there too. With Disneyworld coming in a very close 3rd.
I got to Florida on Wednesday, around 5. Brittany and Cat picked me up and we went to Cat's house for a delicious dinner made by Cat's mom. After that we went to Brittany's and watched Cloverfield (that movie has no ending by the way....). We went to bed right after that, and agreed to meet up to go to Disney at 8:30.
The next day we decided to start off at EPCOT.... And took pictures in front of the big golf ball thing.
We then headed off and rode some rides.... I don't remember exactly which ones we rode, but it was fun. Then we went into the Coke store and tried sodas from different countries. Brittany and Cat were both really talking up the soda from Italy, and me being the kind person that I am, I totally trusted them..... BIG MISTAKE. The soda from Italy was a palette cleanser, and tasted disgusting! I won't forget that you guys..... I have a long memory....
After the Coke store, we went to Magic Kingdom and rode Space Mountain twice in ten minutes, because a worker came up to us and asked us if he put us to the front of the line if we'd like to see how the ride worked. We agreed and after a 10 minute backstage tour, we jumped to the front of the line and rode it..... And then did it again! After we were finished with Space Mountain we fastpassed Splash Mountain and got on that ride with only a 10 minute wait. We then ran over to Thunder Mountain, and had a long wait there because it started to rain and they shut the ride down. Once we were done with that we ran to Pirates of the Carribean, which was shut down (a big disappointement, I've never been on it) and then decided to just go straight to MGM studios.
So, we hopped on a bus, and rode over to MGM fairly quickly. The first thing we did when we got there was ride Tower of Terror. That is my absolute favorite ride. It gives me an adrenaline rush everytime I get on it. Cat decided to skip this one, so Brittany and I rode it alone. We then went to the mini broadway production of Beauty and the Beast, which was pretty good, except for this very distracting costume this one guy was wearing...... Holy bare chest Batman! And he had a stupid hat too..... The Prince (who's name is actually Adam, by the way.... No joke.) was HOT! After the Beauty and the Beast show, we rode Rockin Roller Coaster, a fantastic roller coaster that take you upside down 3 times, all while having you rock out to Aerosmith. We then went and did a little bit of shopping, because I spotted a Disney villan store. Got a really cool mug from that shop too. Then we went to the little mermaid show, and on rockin roller coaster again. Then we caught the Fantasmic show, which is my favorite show at Disneyworld. A battle between all of the Disney villans and Mickey Mouse in dream land makes for some very cool visual effects.
By the time the Fantasmic show ended, the park was closed, and we were so tired we could hardly move. So, we went home then and practically fell into bed.
This is already a horrendously long post, so I'll do more tomorrow......

Goin' on a trip...
Alright, I'm going to be out of town for about a week, and just wanted to make sure everyone knows. I probably won't be answering emails, so call or text me if you need to talk to me. Cheers everyone!

Post Secret
For those of you who don't know, Post Secret is a blog that people send their secrets to anonymously. New ones get put up every Sunday, and they are very enlightening to me.
Some are funny...
Some are sad.....
and some are just...... Scary
I keep read them every Sunday because once in awhile, I find one that could have been written by me; and that gives me proof that no matter how alone I feel, there is someone out there who understands.
Everyone wants to feel that kind of closeness with another person, I think that's why we're so fascinated with the thought of soul mates. To have one person that belongs to you, and understands and accepts you so perfectly is something that I bet everyone on the planet would pay anything to get. I don't really believe in soul mates, to tell you the truth. But I hope that everyone out there has a chance to be loved by someone they'll be able to spend eternity with. And who knows? Maybe being able to love someone, and be loved by someone, who knows all of your secrets is what soul mates are. Soul mates are developed over the years you're with them, not just stumbled on.

Summer is BORING
People who are near me during the school year will often hear me complain about how busy I am. I'm always wishing for summer, but then when it actually comes I'm bored out of my mind! No school or Divine Comedy really frees up my schedule in both good and bad ways. Good because I can now take some time to breathe, eat, and just goof off. Bad because my insomnia kicks into high gear because I don't have to be up early. Bad because when I'm bored I want to shop, and often times forget that summer is when I try to save money for school.
I am very grateful that I've got friends who are actually staying in Provo this summer though, last summer was awful because everybody I knew lived in different states.
Oh, and as a side note, I'm making a quilt. I'm also 4 hours away from my mom, who is the quilting queen (no joke people! You should see the latest thing she's pieced together!). Which worries me because she's not hear to fix my mistakes.... Or to tell me why one of my pieces ended up a good 2 inches longer than the other ones even though I sewed in in exactly the same way!
I also made a surprise trip home to visit my family the other week which was very relaxing and therapeutic for me. I get so caught up it my life up here, that I sometimes forget I have a life down in St George too. I also love going down there because I usually end up getting free stuff. (I know it's shallow of me.... But this time I got a sewing machine, and a Costco card. Come on people, I can now buy ketchup bottles the size of my head!)
A friend of mine asked me to help him make a quilt. Should be fun and interesting trying to figure out how to piece it together. I keep imagining trying to teach him to sew, and having to run him to the emergency room after he sewed his fingers to the fabric..... If you're reading this, my friend, I'm sorry, and I'm sure it's not going to happen... But sometimes I can't help where my thoughts wander to. I'll post pictures of what I've got done so far on my quilt shortly, after I find a digital camera I can borrow.

We've all come so far, we've all got so far to go....
The end of the school year is probably the worst time for me. The relief I feel at having finals over is overshadowed by all of the people who leave. Most will come back when school starts again, but there are those few who are moving on to bigger and better things, meaning that I probably won't see them again.
So, to all those friends and loved ones that are leaving this Happy Valley in pursuit of something better, I say Good-Bye! I hope your lives are filled with wealth, love, and happiness.

Once again, stress has claimed what is most precious to me.... Sleep. Never mind the fact that I have to be up in 4 hours, or that I only slept a minimal amount the night before. So, after an hour of tossing and turning, I find myself blogging. Explain that logic to me, please.
Not sleeping aside, I've had what one would call a most enjoyable week. The end of the semester always gives me a feeling of relief (until the crushing weight of finals sneaks up on me, that is). I've had some free time, which is something that was becoming completely unknown to me. It's like I no longer know what to do with myself when I have free time. I got off work early the other night, came home expecting to just lay around for a few hours before I hauled off to bed, but I found myself unable to sit still. So, 3 loads of laundry and an interesting phone conversation later, I looked at the clock and saw that it was 2am. I was amazed at how fast my free time had passed! One moment it was stretched out before me, and the next I was scrambling to get into my pj's so that I'd be able to wake up the next morning.
I feel as though in this day and age we often forget to savor the free time we have. We've come to the conclusion that we must always be doing something in order to be productive. When, in actuality, taking a break now and then can actually be a stimulus. So, my challenge to all those who read my blog is to take a second and stop doing things. Lay out on the grass for 20 minutes with someone you love, lay on your bed and read a book for a half an hour. Take a study break and go out for ice cream with your room mates. I don't care how you do it, just do! A half hour won't kill you or anyone else, and it may even help you think of a solution for some of the problems you have going on right now.

Las Vegas
I had the wonderful opportunity to spend a week in Las Vegas. Divine Comedy went there to perform, and it was a ton of fun. Some highlight include:
1. Blue Man Group
2. Spamalot
3. Having Blue Man Group welcome us on their scrolling Marquee
4. Having a great Second City show
5. Having a great talk with someone who is very special, and feeling a little better about myself and the situation I'm in right now.
6.Spending several hours on the strip with great friends
7. Riding one of the most intense rollercoasters I've ever ridden
8. Eating great food
9. Spending lots of time with people I really enjoy
10. Tired Kabe (my favorite kind of Kabe!)
11. Getting to know one of our advisers a little better. It's wonderful to know I've got someone on my side George.
And now.... Some pictures!

It seems that no matter how hard I try, I can't get the little voice of doubt out of my head. You know the one. It's always whispering about how no one likes you, your friends are talking about you behind your back, that you look ugly in that shirt, you put on too much makeup, you didn't put on enough makeup, your hair looks horrible, and what in the world made you think you could keep up with everything you have going on in your life right now?
Does everyone have a voice like that? Or, more specifically, does everyone have as a hard a time as I do telling it to shut up? Human beings as a whole have a hard time accepting themselves for who they are, I know that, but I wonder why? Why is that? Why are people so set on believing the worst about themselves? We're children of a God so powerful he knows everything and can do anything! We should be reaching our full capacity as sons and daughters of a God, and amazing ourselves as we realize our limitless potential. Instead, we clip our own wings and spend most of our time convincing ourselves of what we can't do.
And still, even as I write this, even though I'm convinced that what I wrote is true; that voice is still whispering away in the back of my head, trying to convince me that I am nothing more than completely ordinary........

You can honk all you want, I'm still not going to go any faster.
The lastest ailment my car is suffering from: burned-out clutch. At least, that's what we think it is. I shouldn't really be surprised, I guess, because my car is 15 years old. It's just annoying because I can't go any faster than 20 miles an hour. And hills? My car sits at the bottom and laughs at me. That means I'm stuck in my apartment until further notice. Great. This is fun.

The Pursuit of IT
As a cashier, I've seen many sorts of people walk through my line.
There are the newlyweds, who are obviously buying groceries together for the first time, as they are extremely sentimental about which groceries they buy, and usually have large orders.
The food stamp people, who anger me sometimes when they come in and all they buy is soda and candy.
The older ladies, who are so shaky we sometimes have to fill out their checks for them, and who almost always pay in pennies. ( I don't really mind though because they are sweet, and nice.)
Then are the old couples who come in holding hands, as if to shout to the whole world "WE MADE IT! 50% divorce rate and 50 years of blood, sweat, and tears later WE STILL HAVE IT!" They are the couples who have seen hard times, lived through death, sweat, and tears, and still have IT. That one thing that separates the happy from the miserable. The hope that if life isn't good now, it will be soon. If we've had a bad day, tomorrow is a new one. IT is something that everyone can have, but I've discovered not very many people do. My new goal: to achieve IT.
So, if I sometimes don't have as much money as I wish, it's okay. I've got enough to live. I sometimes spend so much of my time worrying about the stuff I don't have, I forget what I do. I've got friends who will stay up until 2-3 am helping me study for tests. I've got room mates that make me laugh so hard, I can't breathe. I've got a family that I miss, and that misses me too. I've got a job. I've gotten a wonderful opportunity to develop new skills, and work with some of the most amazing, wonderful, funny people I've EVER met. IT doesn't hide from me, or anyone, IT is just waiting to be recognized.

No Sleep for Me....
This past week has been.... Weird. My sleep schedule has always been weird, it's always seemed like I need more sleep than everyone else, and that I can't get to sleep until much later than everyone. Well, this pattern of behavior enhances with stress, and due to a very stressful week, I didn't sleep. Period. Almost none at all. This was followed by an exhausted me stumbling into the doctors office, being lectured for a half hour on "good sleep habits" and leaving with a prescription for a mild sleep aid. It helps. The past few days I've been in bed by midnight because I was sleepy, but it still takes me forever to fall asleep. I don't get it! I'm missing classes, because the meds make me so sleepy I sleep through my alarm. But it's better than not sleeping, which is a silver lining due to the fact that I'm failing my classes.... Okay, that was an exaggeration, but I am really far behind, and it's scaring me. To sleep, or not to sleep? That truly is a good question.....

An obsession of mine....
Just found out they cast the Cullen family in the Twilight movie. I personally love the people they chose, and am very happy (not that my opinion REALLY matters). Those who are fans of the books can probably guess who plays who, but I'll tell you anyway. (from left to right) Emmet, Rosalie, Esme, Edward, Carlisle, Alice, and Jasper.

I never said it would be easy....
Dear Siovhan,
I admit that life has taken a downward spiral for you lately. Loads of crap have been shoved your way, and you are handling it wonderfully. Be strong, my friend, see the beauty in life, and know that you are loved by tons of people. This is for you....
If you think you are beaten, you are.
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you'd like to win but think you can't,
It's almost certain you won't.
Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster person,
But sooner or later, the person who wins
Is the person who thinks she can.

Divine Comedy
Just a quick plug here- I work as stage manager for BYU's premiere sketch comedy group, called Divine Comedy. Anyway, they've recently put some of their sketches on youtube, so if you guys want to visit youtube, and type in BYU Divine Comedy, you'll be able to take a glance at what I do. I make all props and costumes, and keep things organized, and I've been known to dance on stage in between skits a time or two. :)

things you cannot (or have trouble doing) with a splint on your hand
- open cars doors
- eat
- find a comfortable sleeping position
- get a can of soda out of a vending machine
- button/unbutton buttons
- take a jacket off
- glue feathers to a blender (long story)
- wash your hair
- type
- turn pages in a magazine/book
-millions of other things that I'm sure I'm going to encounter before I can take this stupid thing off.
Just a little side note, I was moving stuff for Divine Comedy and jammed my finger into a wall. It didn't hurt that much at the time, but after having it ache off and on during the night, and waking up to find that they had swollen to double the size, and turned a nice shade of purpley-blue, I decided a trip to the doctor was in order. A hour and a half and a bunch of x-rays later, it was determined that my knuckle was not broken (thank goodness!) but was sprained. (Yup, a sprained knuckle, figure that one out). So, I got a really cool splint, instructions to ice it 4 times a day for 20 minutes, and was out the door.
In short, I'm really grateful it isn't broken, but annoyed because this couldn't have come at a worse time. A DC show in a week, and i need my hand!!!

My Wonderful Roomates...
Okay, let me just take a second to tell everyone just how wonderful my roommates are.
Siovhan- I knew we were soul mates even before our astrological signs told us so. You are seriously one of the most wonderful people I know, and you put up with a LOT from me. Thanks for dealing with my sleep talking, sleep screaming, and sleep pillow case removing. Although, I'm not so much afraid of your desk eating me as I am about our closet exploding and burying us in clothes and shoes one night. Although, being suffocated by your clothes may not be the worst thing in the world, because you do have great taste. As long as there's some shoes mixed in there, I'm good.
Molly- I personally believe that Molly is, like, the coolest person out of, like, all of the U.S. Americans, and that as such, all other countries such as The Iraq and South Africa should be jealous that, like, they don't have a room mate like Molly. Dance magic dance!!! This for entertaining me with your cool dance moves, and letting me record them on my phone. Of course, you may not even realize what videos I have...... Oh, and for co-introducing me to One Tree Hill!
Melissa- One sentence comes to mind when I think of you. "Love is not love that alters when it alteration finds, or bends with the remover to remove." My love for you will last forever babe! Thanks for the hugs, the One Tree Hill, and all the sprinkles ;). Thanks for being excited when ever I go places with you guys, and for making me feel welcome when I first moved in. Whenever I see you, I know that I will shortly forget my problems and will be laughing. Oh, and you are definitely the HOTTEST Peter Pan I've ever seen.
Andrea and Megan- You moved in a week ago, so I don't really know you that well, but from what I've seen (and heard) around the apartment, you girls are definitely cool enough to be hanging out with me ;).
